Rip Prevent Plus (AI-based system)

Rip Prevent Plus is an AI-based conveyor belt protection system combining industrial hardware and advanced software. It detects belt rip or cut events in less than one second without requiring physical sensors on the belt. The system is maintenance-free, highly reliable, and well suited for harsh mining environments. As an added benefit, it delivers real-time belt tonnage measurement with very high accuracy, with deviations of less than 0.5% compared to conventional belt scale systems.

Conveyor belt rip event

An undetected conveyor belt rip can cause severe damage within seconds. At typical belt speeds of 3 to 7 m/s, a cut can propagate tens or even hundreds of meters before being detected. Rip Prevent Plus identifies the event in under one second and, when integrated with the conveyor control loop, enables immediate stopping or diversion, minimizing damage, reducing downtime, and protecting operational value.
